The 2026 AViD (Authors Visiting in Des Moines) series continues with Maria Semple on Thursday, April 16, at Central Library. This free event begins at 7:00 p.m.

Semple is the bestselling author of Today Will Be Different (2016), Where’d You Go, Bernadette (2012) and This One is Mine (2008). Her newest book, Go Gentle, launched earlier this week. All told, Semple’s novels have been translated into over 30 languages. Before writing fiction, Maria wrote for the TV shows Arrested DevelopmentMad About YouEllen90210 and others. She lives in New York.
